Hocus Pocus' original witches were revived three centuries ago. It's just been approximately three decades this time.
This is the first teaser trailer for "Hocus Pocus 2," and it gives a taste of what's to come for the Sanderson sisters Winifred (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker), and Mary (Kathy Najimy). Just in time for the Halloween season, the sequel premieres on Disney+ on September 30th.
With a full moon in the sky and 300 years of slumber, "Hocus Pocus" tells the story of three wicked sisters who were awakened on All Hallow's Eve by the lighting of a Black Flame Candle on Halloween. When the sun rises, the witches must be stopped from becoming immortal by young Max Dennison (Omri Katz) and Dani (Thora Birch). The first film was directed by Kenny Ortega, while the second will be directed by Anne Fletcher.
Even though they were defeated by two young girls at the end of the first film, they have risen from their graves and face off against them once more. Hannah Waddingham, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Doug Jones, Whitney Peak, and "Drag Race" queens Ginger Minj, Kahmora Hall, and Kornbread "The Snack" Jeté are all returning to reprise their roles from the first film, "Ted Lasso."
It was revealed in December that Hale, best known for his role on the television show "Arrested Development," would portray two characters in the film, one of them a "evil reverend."
An additional bizarre experience. When Hale met Bette Davis, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy from 'Veep' at the premiere of the film, "it was incredibly wonderful," Hale remarked.
"Hocus Pocus 2" is produced by Steven Haft, Lynn Harris, and Bonnie Hlinomaz, with Steven Haft serving as co-producer. Executive producers for the film include David Kirschner, Adam Shankman, and Ralph Winter, among others.
